Britney has enjoyed the art of creating funky jewelry pieces from an early age. It started with a local bead shop in the town she grew up in Claremont, CA. When she was a bit older she got a job at that shop, and soon realized that counting beads and picking them up off the floor was not nearly as creative as she would have hoped. So that job ended but Britney continued to make one of a kind pieces.
Jean-Marie has loved creating things since she was a child. Jean-Marie learned how to sew from her mother and was soon making doll clothes and purses. Once in High School she realized that specially made necklaces for her classmates was an easy money maker. She began making personalized name necklaces for everyone on campus. And there is where her love for unique jewelry began. Jean-Marie also created the jewelry for her wedding in Hawaii.
Fast forward about 10 years later when Britney met Jean-Marie while out with friends. Unbeknownst to the both of them they shared a common passion-creating jewelry. We often shared in beading weekends, marathon bead shopping days and trunk shows.
Present
. The best part of making jewelry with such a good friend is that we are like each others muse. We inspire each other, and then evolve each others ideas. We’ve integrated each others techniques so much that my husband sometimes has a hard time telling what I have made and what Jean-Marie has made. In 2008 we endeavored to create a “jewelry empire” as we comically have coined it. We have evolved in our technique and style over the years.
We are currently doing a variety of trunk shows, and will be soon updating our blog with pictures from our latest trunk show.
We are currently working on many projects, including but not limited to trunk shows, personal style sessions, teaching classes, boutique seminars, and more.
But aside from creating jewelry Jean-Marie enjoys painting, sewing, cooking, and is an avid student of the French language. Bien sur! She also loves to travel with her husband Jon (also known as our honorary business manager) :)
Britney enjoys cooking for friends, is a lover of the French language, loves traveling to unique destinations and stumbling across unique beads to incorporate into her pieces, and loves spending time with her 10 month old baby and husband.
