Day 5: 10 things to be thankful for-My baby's smile...

With all that goes on each day. It can be hard to smile and move forward. The other day, as life had taken a drastic turn I looked at lil L and I just couldn't help but smile at him.  Life just looked brighter! How could it not look luminous when I was looking at such a radiant smile. Oh, how a simple smile from my baby brings me so much joy!

So this one is for all the babies out there. And hopefully as you look at these cute faces your day will be a little more... smiley!

Day 3: 10 Things to Be Thankful for- The Heart

As some of you may know I have gone to school to be a Cardiac Sonographer.  And I must say that learning about the heart is nothing short of AMAZING!!!  Like learning that our heart has actual heart strings, or that when they do a heart transplant they leave part of the defective heart behind, or that when coronary arteries get occluded they make “detours” in the form of collaterals, I could go on and on!  There are so many astonishing things that happen within this muscle every nanosecond of our existence and we are completely oblivious to it!  Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death and most of it is preventable with exercise and diet.  So today (really everyday) I am thankful for this magnificent organ that beats inside of me over  100,000 times per day, and I will show my gratitude by running and giving it more oxygen.

Well said Brit... I couldn't have said it better. It is an organ we should cherish and treat well. I will kiss my Lil L today and take him for a walk to celebrate that magnificent part of our body.

Day 2: 10 Things to be Thankful for-Good Friends

What would we ever do without our good friends. They are the spice of life. They are there to make you laugh when you want to cry. And they let you cry when you wish you could laugh.

So here are 3 friends I'm truly grateful for: Britney, Jaclyn, and Yumi. I was going to get mushy on this one but have decided to leave it as Thank You for being so dear to me.
Life just wouldn't be as colorful if you weren't in it.

All I can say here is: Bagels, Rap music, and Early Mornings!!

I also would just like to add, That I am thankful for when I get reaquainted with old friends. I wish I had more time for everyone in my life but I will take the moments on the phone, the e-mails, the random meetings in the wine country. All those moments are spice of life.

One of my most favorite pics :)

I couldn't agree with Jean-Marie more!

Send us a picture of whom you are so Thankful for. We'd love to post it. Or maybe you just want to give them a shout out. I have to say As I was writing this post, it made me want to post so many more pictures and say so much more. But I think I may reserve that for a card to each of my good friends in the near future thanking them for there wonderful life long friendship.

10 Thank You's

Brit and I love to shake things up and do mini sprints, like abstaining from something for 10 days. In the past we have shocked our bodies (and do we mean SHOCK!) by not eating anything processed, sugar, or carbs for 10 days. Its amazing what 10 days can do for you! It feels liberating to have the will power and self control to succeed in saying "No" when you normally say, "Yes, I'll take 2!"

This month I have started a new schedule and part of the new schedule is to think postive and be happy with what I accomplish rather than go to bed at the end of the day wishing I had done more. So, far so good and I have to say I feel more accomplished than ever. Just look at what a little postivity can do to ones life! Brit wrote a post about a book called, "365 Thank You's: The Year a Simple Act of Daily Gratitude Changed My Life" (it's on my list of books to read) where John Kralik a lawyer spent everyday of one year writing a thank you note a day. You can listen to him on here on his NPR spot.  He did all this after a string of bad events hit him. He said he had no idea how big of an impact it would have on his life, and he was inspired by the repercussions of such a simple act.

So in the spirit of being a better version of ourselves, we want to take our positive thinking and turn it into actions as well.  So for the next 10 days we want to be thankful , so everyday we will have a new post about something that we appreciate in our lives.  This is a great reminder to really look for the good in your own life.
