Everyday Foods Homemade: Guacamole

We hail from southern California where the avocados flow plentifully, and are usually regarded as something close to gold!  And guacamole is one of those things that is far too expensive to buy out, so we make it at home regularly....let me rephrase that...daily!  So much so that my 4 year old can make it!

Note the price for guacamole at this restaurant.  They don’t even put a price on it, they just say “Market value” like your ordering lobster or something! Preposterous!

We barter with a friend who makes us fresh salsa and that’s a wonderful addition to the guacamole.  So this is the “recipe” (if you will) that we go by.

Homemade Guacamole
Ingredients:
2 ripe Haas avocados (we use Haas since they are creamier, and they are native to this area of southern CA)
1/2 lemon or lime +/-
1 tbsp cilantro +/-
garlic salt to taste
2 heaping tablespoons homemade salsa
Scoop out the avocado in a bowl.  Mash the avocado, then add all other ingredients.   Mix are you are ready to enjoy!
Tastes great all by itself with chips, or on top of a mushroom quesadilla.  Yum!
P.S. Salsa recipe to come soon!!!

Norrah25 I will post that recipe but i am just trying to get it down better before I try to tell someone else how to do it. A friend is supposed to come and show me the proper method, and then I will be happy to share my knowledge :)
