January 24, 2009 A Wedded Affair

Jean-Marie does ..........She really enjoyed doing the hair for Louise's wedding. Louise wasn't accustomed to wearing much jewelry. But Jean-Marie was able to show her how even after her wedding she could wear her jewelry with her everyday wardrobe. And what a great memory, to think of your wedding everytime you put your earrings on! Way to go Louise!

Jean-Marie and I collborated on something that would suit Louise's style while being a little fun at the same time. So this is what we came up with...............

And if you are looking for something unconventional for your wedding please give us a ring! We'd love to help make your memorable day wonderful.

January 31, 2009 The Corsicans

Just off the coast of Sicily a tiny island exists named Corsica. Corsica is similar in terrain, and climate to southern California. Our friends Priscillia and Frederic taught us much about the French language, as well as the culture. One night they made us a baked banana with Nutella. Can I just say...Amazing! I will never look at a banana the same! Merci!

We wanted to make something special for Prisicillia and noticed that she liked to wear funkier, bolder colors, so Jean-Marie came up with a concept for some boucle d'oreille (earrings in french), a melange of crystals that made for a dramatic piece of jewelry. I came up with a simple boucle d'oreille (earrings) incorporating shells, pearls and crystals. They live by the beach so I thought that she would enjoy something she could wear when it was warm outside and maybe had a bit more skin exposed around her shoulders.

Jean-Marie thoroughly enjoyed the experience, as did I. And we look forward to seeing them again, hopefully Jean-Marie and I will both be a bit more fluent. A bientot!

December 29, 2008 The Visitors

Some friends recently visited Jean-Marie from London. The wife was fabulously dressed, I noticed her great stilettos! During a conversation she mentioned that she is passionate about fashion! Jean-Marie and I were both inspired to make something special for our new friend. And we were not the only ones who were inspired because Joseph (my husband) was too. Joseph created a clutch for Esther, and designed a shirt for her husband Phillip. The couple were very excited about their new cadeau (gift), and so were we! It's great to give just because!

December 5,2008 Elaina's Revamping Soiree

Wow what a great event!  We did a revamp soiree where we took a piece of their old jewelry and gave it new life.
I worked on a piece for Candice.  She brought a necklace that was given to her from an old boyfriend.  Definite re-vamping material!  And re-vamp we did!  We took a wood, seed necklace on twine, and mixed different mediums, black pearls, chain, silk ribbon, and mother of pearl to name a few of the ingredients.
Jean-Marie took two necklaces, one a strand of turquoise and the other was a melange of stones and chain and made one necklace.  Creating a funky piece that was very versatile and went well with a few new pieces of clothing that she recently purchased. Who knew that two necklaces that got no action would turn into a show stopping piece!
We loved that  everyone was involved in the creative process.  "I love that you guys make the jewelry right there on the spot!", was a common comment that we found.  And we liked that too.  It's nice to know that you are recycling something old to make something new.  So that means that there are absolutely no carbon foot prints, which means this is an environmental savvy soiree!
