So last week, I was totally inspired when Felicia (of A Simply Raw Life) and I hopped on over to Joy's  book signing at West Elm in Los Angeles.  We had the opportunity to meet the darling author of the new book,  "Blog, Inc." Joy Cho, who's nothing less than a blogging Yoda for all lost and wayward bloggers looking for a beacon of light to navigate in this virtual maze!  Need I say more?  Check her out here and be awed!

It is my plan that after I read this book I will know all the secrets to captivate readers, seem more witty, and I may even stand a bit taller, or at least my posts may be a bit more regular :)

CURRENTLY SMITTEN WITH

Well hello There!

Well life certainly does have a way of keeping us busy.  As one who resists the changing of hot to cold, sandals to boots, I've found a few things that make the transition a bit more enjoyable.  Here are a few things I've been dreaming about from Pinterest...

1.  A cozy bunny sweater for Z.  Bunny Sweater by Oeuf find it here.

2.  Love these funky hats that Jean-Marie introduced to me by Annie Larson.  She is one creative I'd love to be friends with.  Totally adorbs and found here!!!

3.  With these Oscar De La Renta scalloped suede pumps  I welcome Fall with open arms.  You can too here.

4.  Snuggling in fuzzy socks and perhaps one of those snuggie things writing some handwritten notes.  I love handwritten notes, especially when they are as pretty as these.  You can find some great stationary by Rifle Paper Company  here.

5.  A cool scarf for a new way to wear my hair would be fantastic.  Perhaps one like this one here.

Lately dolls have been on our minds.  My daughter is really getting into playing with dolls as of recent, so I was thinking I'd like for her to have a nice collection of unique dolls to play with.  When I was growing up I remember having a cabbage patch kid, remember those?  And I have a cabbage patch look alike that my grandmother made when I was a little girl  that Z has taken a fancy to.

          We are very fortunate to have many creative’s as friends. And you know what happens when a bunch of creative’s get together, we feel like conquering the world through art and expression! Well we wanted to let all of our peeps know that while you will be able to find out the happenings of Jean-Marie and I here on the blog, we also have a new 2nd home. We are contributing writers for a great new endeavor A Simply Raw Life Blog. Here you will find great recipes, tips, etc... that are slanted toward the RAW/vegan side of life, but can be adapted to fit your lifestyle.

         Now if you’re thinking that this all sounds a little too extreme, don’t fret, Jean-Marie and I are not seasoned vet’s at this by any means, I mean we still love butter as much as the next person! But we also know that we have to respect our bodies, as well as set an example for these little people who seem to copy everything that we do!!! We have struggles just like you with feeling overwhelmed at times, wanting to give into cravings, or just being tired of another salad! But in the end we know that we are really doing something great for ourselves, or families, and the environment, while we try to create good habits for health.

So stop on by, say Hello and get inspired!

     So I just couldn’t resist posting this picture of our littlest intern, I love his little chubby hands! And I couldn’t leave out our older inter Zion (she’s got 2 years on Liam).

     You know they say that kids end up like their parents; I am really hoping that we are able to set a fine example so that the things that are important to us will be important to them as well. For instance being healthy, helping others, and of course making jewelry <3>

Cancer Update

     After being 100% RAW for one week Jean said that she felt mentally the most clear that she’s ever felt.  She mentioned that she has been working on learning French for the last 4.5 years, and she noticed that after being RAW for 1 week, she was able to study her lessons so clearly and much faster than usual, with amazing comprehension!  She noted that normally she has to use a dictionary, but this week didn’t have to use one at all.

     At first she thought that she was going to feel like she was starving, but was pleasantly surprised when she did not starve!   She says that she was ready for her next meal but it never happened that she was destitute.

     Fast forward a few weeks and Jean Marie has been doing really great.  She has been able to rest and recuperate, and has a positive attitude (which is a powerful healing factor).  I’m sure she will be doing cart wheels in no time!

These Itty Bits have been brushing up on their Swedish!

iphone Photogs & Photo Contest

Who says you need teeth to eat meat? Naomi, 7 months

We heart photography!  And for a long period in my teen’s and twenties I wanted to pursue photography with secret desires of becoming a National Geographic photographer traveling to the rain forests, and the Serengeti, in search of exotic mammals, and beautiful tribeswomen.  

That was the dream!  The reality is that we still love photography but with a family there is little time, or enough arms to carry diaper bags, car seats, and then... a camera bag.  So we decided to become iphone photogs.

Jean-Marie just inherited a "real" camera, you know the ones that used to take film? Yea real old school, I know! I’d like to get a “real” camera again... one day... but until then my iphone will have to do.
